No engagement?

No wonder!

Here are 6 great reasons why you are going to want to focus more on engagement than simply posting on social media.

1: Engagement is a key indicator of success on social media

When more people engage with you and your content and your comments, it ends up pushing your account out to others. (It's an algorithm thing) When people engage with your content, it signals to social media algorithms that your content is valuable and should be shown to more people. This means that engagement is going to help you to reach a wider audience and build relationships with potential clients.

2: Engagement can help you to understand your audience better.

Pay attention: When you 'listen' to what people are saying about your areas that relate to your industry, you can learn what they like, what they don't like, and what they want to see more of.
This information can be gold to help you develop your best, most effective marketing strategies.
You'll get to learn more about their problems and challenges. You get to be able to add value with quick hints, tips, and other resources. You'll be able to use this information to gain insight into what your audience likes and dislikes, what they're interested in, and what they may be looking for from your brand. This information can help you make more informed decisions about your social media strategy and your business as a whole.

3. Build Authority, Trust, Credibility.

When you interact with your followers in a positive way, you show that you are a real person who cares about their opinions. This can help to build trust and credibility, which are essential for any successful business.

Engaging in conversations on your chosen social media site helps to establish yourself as an authority in your industry or niche. Be the "Go-To". By sharing your expertise, answering questions, and providing valuable insights, you can build credibility and earn the trust of your followers.  You'll also get to showcase your personality, values, and work ethic.  That's going to help your potential clients get a better sense of who you are and what you stand for.
And guess what... That ends up leading to increased engagement, loyalty, and ultimately, more sales.

4: Drive Traffic

Well, of course! Engaging with your followers will help drive traffic to your website or other online platforms. Honestly, that's one of the biggest objectives I work on with my clients.  Using your engagement on socials to offer up your 'freebies' (lead generators) as part of your overall list growth strategy. Go ahead - include links in your comments or share your own content - and when it's appropriate, you can offer a helpful resource to help the reader learn more to solve their challenge.

5: Engagement Can Simply Be Fun!

Social media is a great way to connect with people and have fun. If you're not enjoying yourself, it's going to be difficult to keep up with your social media marketing efforts. So make sure to take some time to interact with your followers and have a little fun.
